I have been working with MS SQL 2005 for some time. No matter how much I use it, I still prefer the MS SQL 2000 IDE. The 2005 one is just so much slower. I think Microsoft has really tried to make it fit the Visual Studio .Net IDE so much. I guess its not a bad thing but damn the program is a memory hog and works so much slower. I mean half the day as a developer you spend in SQL Server. So why would you want it to be so slow loading. I mean its just SQL Server that runs slow and of course the Visual Studio 2005/2008 IDE starts off slow but picks up after its fully loaded. I run these both on Dual Core 2.0, 4 gig ram, windows XP pro operating system.
I have also messed with both these IDEs on the same exact machine running Windows VISTA and i actually have noticed it runs better in Vista strange as Vista is even a bigger memory hog than Windows XP. Strange I tell you simply strange.
Anyone share this same experience between SQL2005 and SQL2000?

Well it went great, every one was extremely happy. I was most worried about my sister because I know her and my brother in law have been trying to have a baby. But they are all very happy and what can I say, so am I.
Off topic:
I feel that sometimes in my life i am truly blessed by the people I have around me. Miguel, Jay and Hermann are probably the 3 closest friends that I have. I consider Miguel to pretty much be my brother. He and I go back for about 12 years. Jay is my brother in law and he like miguel I have known for an extremely long time, about 16 years. Amazing how time flies.
Random thought of the day:
I was watching the NFL network this afternoon and I saw that they are trying to change 3 rules.
1) Long hair needs to be tucked in under the helmet
-My thought on this, ABOUT DAMN TIME.. I mean they have STRICT uniform rules, people can get fined for untucked shirts and wearing the wrong socks. Plus last year they had a very whacked call against Larry Johnson when they said he excessively pulled Troy Polamalu’s hair, to me and I’m not a Chiefs fan but thats crap, if they say the hair is part of the uniform then all is fair. Anyway I think its crazy, if they want to grow the hair let them, but I’ll be damned if another stupid call like that happens.
2) Changing the rules of the playoffs so the wildcard can still get homefield advantage in the playoffs
- My thought on this, Yep I’m all for it, why not it should be record driven anyway. It makes sense if a wild card team has a better record than the division leader in a separate division they should get the advantage.
3) Force out rule to be thrown out
- Well this is mixed, because we do get some fantastic catches that show up on the highlight reel from these guys catching and getting smacked. But either way i guess, it would be cool it makes it more like college football where you better make sure you inbounds when you catch the ball. Really nothing changes because it takes away an error the refs can make about if he really would have been inbounds.
Well thats all for my random thoughts for this evening

I just posted an article I read some time back about working with arrays in C#.NET. Anyway if you are having a hard time understand arrays and the way they work check out the article under the programming section. I didn’t write this article nor am i attempting to say i did (Mahesh Chand wrote it). I simple put it on this site because I thought it might be useful to those out there that are dealing wtih arrays or are use to the ways arrays worked before .NET. Arrays goign from VB6 to .NET are handled different and some are much more useful. So Check out the article you can find it by CLICKING HERE

Well I figured before anyone just starts asking why I have some ads on this blog its just to simply help me pay the hosting costs of running this site. I don’t really expect to make anything but a few dollars out of it and it can assist with the hosting bill and such.
